We are thrilled to offer the Odachi katana sword, a full-tang battle-ready, hand-made masterpiece. The sword is a member of our braided-leather Japanese sword collection. The Odachi katana sword, sometimes incorrectly referred to as a nodachi katana sword or no-dachi features a traditional hand-braided brown leather wrap, a blackened steel tsuba and bronze pommel along with beautiful red tassels. The sharp battle-ready high-carbon steel blade is mounted with a traditional copper habaki. The scabbard on this odachi katana sword is hand-made from hard wood, and covered in brown leather as shown. The sword’s high carbon steel blade is hand-forged over hot coals, using many of the ancient techniques passed down through the generations of ancient sword-smiths. Each tsuba and end cap is individually hand-cast in blackened steel for functionality and ease of maintenance. A traditional solid copper habaki is hand fitted to each 40" long, 1-3/8" wide fully battle-ready blade which attests to its authenticity.
